17-2
GRANEX® is an exterior cladding panel of balanced laminate
construction composed of natural stone aggregate embedded in an integral
glass fiber reinforced composite substrate of core material, polyester
resin and inorganic fillers. The resulting panel is aesthetically
pleasing, strong and impervious to moisture even along exposed
edges.
Reduced weight means savings in shipping and labor costs, lighter
framing and speedier installation especially when compared to a
field-applied aggregate or precast system. GRANEX® panels can be
attached to virtually any framing or wall system, including metal and
wooden studs or furring strips.
The continuous in-line process equipment that makes GRANEX®,
deposits natural stone aggregate into the base matrix in such a way as to
form an integral bond of the elements. After the aggregate is applied, the
material passes through curing ovens and continues to the cutting
operation where the panel is cut to size and palletized, ready for
shipment.
