Aluminum Trim System

The Aluminum Trim System uses an aluminum frame around the edges of the panel to conceal the fasteners. Fasteners are only installed along the edges of the panel. The installed cost of this system is 10% to 15% more than conventional face fastening.

The center of the panel is adhered to the building framing with construction adhesive. Adhesive is to be applied to the face of the studs just prior to installing the GRANEX® panel. The aluminum trim comes in two pieces (A, exposed and B, hidden). The wall side (hidden) is placed behind the GRANEX® panel and the fastening screws go through the panel and this half of the frame. The exposed half of the aluminum frame snaps into a serrated groove in the wall side of the frame, to hide the fastener around the edge of the panel.
