Drill a 3/8" diameter pilot hole at the side lap through both sheets. Draw the panel layers together tightly before inserting the grommet to prevent premature spreading of the grommet (which can hold sheets apart). Tighten with an adjustable torque driver, driven at a slow speed, until the grommet extrudes out slightly.
