				Part 1 General 
1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The scope of this specification is intended to cover roof and/or wall panels and associated accessories as shown on the drawings. This includes, but is not limited to – Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) roofing/siding/liner panels – Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) eave, gable, corner, ridge, jamb, and sill flashing – Fasteners, as required, to secure the panels and flashing – Closures and sealant, as required, to complete the installation


1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.02.01 CHEMCLAD® products as manufactured by GRAHAM FRP Composites, Inglewood, Ontario represent the level of quality required.

1.02.02 Manufacturer of FRP roofing/siding/liner panels shall be ISO 9001 certified.


1.03 PRODUCT SUBSTITUTION

1.03.01 The materials specified in this section establish a minimum quality and performance standard to be met by any substitution.

1.03.02 Applications for substitution must include samples and technical information.


				Part2 Products 
2.01 MATERIALS AND FINISHES

2.01.01 Roofing, siding, or liner panels shall be CHEMCLAD® or approved equal and meet the following specifications:
-FRP roofing shall be CHEMCLAD® FRP
-siding shall be CHEMCLAD® FRP
-liner shall be CHEMCLAD®

2.01.02 Glass fiber reinforcements shall be primarily continuous and oriented in two (2) directions (along the material length and width).
Glass content shall be a minimum of 40% by weight.

2.01.03 Resins shall be one of the following: Isophthalic Polyester/Vinyl Ester – UV Stabilized 2.01.04 Exterior surface shall have a textured finish; interior shall be smooth.

2.01.05 Exterior surface shall have an acrylic polymer coating (optional).

2.01.06 Panels shall be fire retardant with a flame spread rating of 25 or less per ASTM E-84 test. 2.01.07 Panel color shall be as selected by owner.

2.01.08 Panels shall be in lengths as long as possible and practical to minimize end laps. 2.01.09 FRP flashing and trim shall be as shown on the drawings.

2.01.10 Fasteners and washers shall be stainless steel (grade 304 or 316), with EPDM seals, spaced as shown on the drawings.

2.01.11 Side lap fasteners shall be SB2 grommets installed per manufacturers recommendations.


2.02 STRUCTURAL PARAMETERS FOR ROOFING, SIDING AND LINER PANELS

2.02.01 Roofing, siding and liner panels shall meet the following load and design criteria for the spans shown on the drawings.

Roofing Panels	Uniform Load __________psf 
		Allowable deflection - L/D = 60; F.O.S. = 2.5 
Siding Panels	Uniform Load __________psf 
		Allowable deflection - L/D = 30; F.O.S. = 1.88 
Liner Panels	Uniform Load __________psf 
		Allowable deflection - L/D = 30; F.O.S. = 1.88 

2.03 FABRICATION

2.03.01 Panels shall be fabricated in the factory by continuous low pressure pultrusion process.


				Part 3 Execution 
3.01 INSPECTION

3.01.01 Check alignment of supports before placing panels. Bearing surfaces for panels must be clean.

3.01.02 After placing on supports, adjust panels to final position with proper bearing and alignment at joints, laps, and supports before fastening.


3.02 HANDLING AND STORAGE OF FRP ROOFING, SIDING AND LINER PANELS

3.02.01 Protect panel surfaces from cuts, scratches, gouges, abrasions, and impacts.

3.02.02 Store panels with one end elevated; do not store flat. Keep all FRP materials covered – do not stack or store other materials on top of panels. Store materials in a dry location, off the ground, and allow for ventilation.
