This new group of products is designed for use as built up
roofing (BUR) foundation, as a replacement for Fluted Steel Deck, concrete
slab or Cement Fiber Deck. Two profiles meet span requirements at
different loadings, while maintaining FRP's low weight advantage.
Corrosion resistance in moist conditions such as paper mills is the
special advantage of CHEMCLAD® RoofDeck. A polymer matrix reinforced
multi-layer woven glass fiber resulted in FM Approval for Resistance to
Foot traffic under Approval Standard 4471. Both passed the Class 1 Fire
Classification of ceiling panels with ASTM E-84 Flame Spread Index of 10
at 16 oz./sq.ft. weight. While these products were not tested as part of a
BUR System by FM, they show excellent results as the deck component for
fire, walkability and wind uplift resistance. Load span data is based on
full scale testing. Specify Vinylester or GFM formulation when ordering.
